The Egyptian Alternative

This fascinating book puts a very different perspective on modern Arabian horse breeding, which is now culturally directed toward the show ring rather than desert functionality. Some of the Bedouin Arabians I ride in Wadi Rum would not be recognised as pure breds in a UK show ring, but their strength and sweetness of character, and their “fit” in the desert ecological niche, is second to none, of course!
